Roos Vink

In her work, Roos Vink explores the subtle boundary between the human being, the body, and its surroundings. Through an intuitive and craft-based approach, she evokes a world in which movement, light, and presence flow naturally into one another—as though the human figure is never entirely separate from the space that surrounds it.

Her murals, often executed on a monumental scale, bring this fascination directly into architecture. They transform bare walls into living surfaces filled with rhythm and atmosphere, where figures and landscapes merge. These works possess an immediate physical energy: they embrace their surroundings and invite the viewer to become part of a larger, shared experience.

In the tapestry Dance, she translates this same sense of movement into textile. The work presents a flowing composition of bodies and forms dissolving into one another, imbued with a warm, tactile quality. The tapestry feels like a frozen moment of collective movement—intimate, yet universal.

The painted folding screen Sunrise functions as a delicate threshold. Here, a subtle landscape unfolds as light gradually enters the space. The screen simultaneously separates and connects, inviting the viewer into a quiet moment of anticipation between night and day, inside and outside.

Vink's oeuvre is characterised by a refined balance between craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility. Whether working with monumental murals, textiles, or objects such as folding screens, her works radiate a gentle sense of estrangement.
